HARELA

Harela  is a  Hindu  festival celebrated basically in the  Kumaon  region of  Uttarakhand  state of India and some regions of Himachal Pradesh. It is called Hariyali or Rihyali in the Kangra, Shimla, and Sirmour regions of Himachal Pradesh. It is called Dakhrain in the Jubbal and Kinnaur areas of Himachal Pradesh. In Himachal, people take their village deity to an open place, and sing and dance in front of the idol. It is celebrated thrice every year; the first two celebrations are during both the periods of  Navrati  – first during  Chaitra Navrati  in the month of  Chaitra , and second during  Sharad Navratri  in the month of  Ashwin . This is followed by  Bhaitauli  or  Bhitauli  wherein gifts are given to girls of the family. The Shravan Harela is celebrated as the first day (Kark  Sankranti ) of the  Hindu calendar  month of  Shravan  (late July). It's a piety thing that the new generation of the uttrakhand is also not knowing it's origin ,it's village.They are only upto big cities and big malls.The panaromic view of villages ,their striking beauty is not known to them.they are almost unaware about their culture,their language,tradition,and many more things. It's like a movement that the elders are urged to tell their children their traditions and not provoking them to other's tradition's only. Now -a-days ,even the garhwali children are denying of the fact that they are garhwali.It's seriously a piety. JOURNEY TO BHIMPUL, LAXMIVAN, SAHASTRADHARA, CHAKARTIRATH, SATOPANTH AND VADUDHARA

BHIM PUL The Bheem Pul is located in the Mana village of Badrinath Town and about 4 kms from Badrinath Temple. It can be easily accessible by the road. As per the Mythology, When Pandavas were walking for Swarga (heaven), this path was followed, from Badrinath temple to heaven, it’s called SWARGAROHANI and for Draupadi to cross the Saraswati River, Bheem brought this big Shila and placed it above Saraswati stream in such a manner that it became a bridge. This is a single stone and placed perfectly and its shape is such that it would not descend further. The Bheem have possessed strength of several Elephants and this gigantic piece of rock stands bare witness to such strength. There are marks on the rock that are interpreted as bheema’s fingerprints. People take home holy water from the Saraswati River flowing beneath this Bheem Pul. This place also has its Geographic importance as it happens to be the last village of the Indian subcontinent. BRAHMAKUND  [HARIDWAR] Haridwar , also spelled  Hardwar , is a city and municipality in the  Haridwar district  of  Uttarakhand , India. The  Pandavas  are the central characters of the longest Hindu epic  Mahabharata  who fought the  Mahabharata War  against their cousins  Kauravas  for the throne of  Hastinapur  in  Kurukshetra . They were five brothers, namely  Yudhishthira ,  Bhima ,  Arjuna ,  Nakula  and  Sahadeva , acknowledged as the sons of  Pandu , the king of  Hastinapur  and his two wives  Kunti  and  Madri . All five brothers were married to the same woman,  Draupadi . However, Yudhishthira had another wife, namely Devika; Bhima had other 2 wives, namely Valandhara and Hidimba; Arjuna had other 3 wives, namely Ulupi, Chitrangada, Subhadra ;Sahdev had another wife ,namely Vijaya and Nakul had another wife, namely Karenumati.
