Egaas

Today, after 11 days of Diwali, Uttarakhand is celebrating Egaas. Today, in our homes puuris and pakoris are made. It is believed that when lord Rama returned to his homeland with his wife Sita and his brother Laxman, Diwali was celebrated for the first time in Ayodhya. After 11 days, the news of his homecoming came to Uttrakhand and the people celebrated Diwali on this day.  So...  Happy Egass to all.  May god fulfill all your wishes.

In the year 2020, 1st festival that was celebrated by all the Indians was Diwali itself. Diwali itself is a series of  5 festivals one after the other. DHANTERAS : This day people worship goddess Lakshmi along with lord Ganesha.On this day, people make beautiful rangoli.Dhanteras is the worship of lord Dhanvantari. Lord Dhanvantari, according toHindu Mythology , emerged during  Samudra Manthan , holding a  Kalasha   full of   Amrit   (an Ayurvedic herbal mix bestowing immortality) in one hand and the sacred text about Ayurveda in the other hand. He is considered to be the Vaidya   of Gods. PHULOON KI GHAATI

Valley of Flowers National Park isan Indian National park,located in North Chamoli and Pithoragarh,in the state of Uttrakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora.This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals,including the Asiatic black bear ,snow leopard,musk deer , brown bear,red fox and blue sheep.Birds found in the park include Himalayan monal pheasant and other high  altitude birds.At 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level,the gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park  complements the rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park to the east.Together,theyencompass a unique transition zone between the mountain ranges of the Zansakar and the Great Himalayas.The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km 2 and it is about 8 km long and 2 km wide. SATON AATO

Saton aato is a festival of Pithoragarh,celebrated in Bhadrapad [August-September].This festival is also celebrated as the wedding ceremony of [Maheshwara] Shiva and Parvati.It is believed that on this day Goddess Parvati comes to her parents home on sathon and Lord Shiva comes to take her on aatho.Himalayas are the believed to be the parents house of Goodess Parvati.It is a festival of monsoon in which women wish everyone for their unbroken good luck,fast and worship Parvati and Maheshwara. In this festival,different types of songs are sung for the worship. This festival is started in Bhadrapad month's shuklapaksh or krishnapaksh's panchmi, also known as BERODA PANCHMI . DAL DHUNGLU

Dal Dhunglu is a cuisine of Uttarakhand .It is a favorite dish often made during picnics by the children.The dal made is a mixture of many pulses (moong , arhar, rajma, etc.) Dhunglu is cooked on stone. It is a very thick bread (roti), cooked over hot stones. In hills it is usual that children go to graze their livestock. The afternoon time is a boring time of the day. So, at that time, children do small picnics. They mix all the pulses to make the dal.One would then prepare the dough for Dhunglu. Then it is made and served hot.
